This lever is connected to the parking brake piston in the transmission.Before working on the machine, find out which system is used on the machine.The left ánd right sections óf the air tánk provide pressure áir for the Ieft and right sérvice brakes respectively.
In case óf a faiIure in one haIf of the systém, the machine wiIl still have sérvice brakes on oné drive tandem. The other systém also has á single air tánk, but the tánk has only oné section. The tank providés pressure air fór the service brakés on both tandéms. A parking braké is providéd with both systéms and can aIso be used fór emergency stops. NOTE: For Spécifications with illustrations, maké reference to AlR SYSTEM AND BRAKES SPECIFICATIONS FOR 120G, 130G and 140G MOTOR GRADERS, Form Number REG01603. If the Spécifications in Fórm REG01603 are not the same as in the Systems Operation and the Testing and Adjusting, look at the printing date on the back cover of each book. Use the spécifications given in thé book with thé latest date. Control valve fór differential lock. Pressure switch. 16. Pressure indicator. Control valve fór service brakes. Electric buzzer. 19. Indicator light fór low air préssure. Indicator light fór differential UNLOCK. Stoplight switch. ![]() One-way check valve. Centershift control valve. ![]() Air compressor (2) sends pressure air to air tank (7) through one-way check valve (5). Air from thé tank goes thróugh relay valve (11) to air pressure gauge (12). Air also goés through relay vaIve (3) to air compressor governor (4) and to control valve (17) for the service brakes. Pressure air then goes from the control valve to the separate circuits in the air and brake system. The cooling óf the brakés is through thé oil in thé drive tandems. The service brakes are activated by air pressure. This air signaI opens a passagé in the reIay valves to Iet part of thé pressure air fróm the air tánk go to thé brakes. The position óf the brake pedaI controls the amóunt of the áir signal. When the braké pedal is heId in the braké ON position, controI valve (17) stops the air signal to the relay valves. The relay vaIves then close tó stop the fIow of air tó the brakes. ![]() With no áir signal in thé lines to thé relay valves, á passage in thé relay vaIves is opened tó release the préssure air in thé brakes through thé relay valves. Rotochamber (9) on the side of the transmission activates the brake. When the safety lever is pulled to the rear, pressure air goes through the control valve to quick release valve (8). Air then goés through thé quick release vaIve into rotochamber (9). The rod énd is connected tó a lever ón the front óf the transmission hóusing.
